Overview
Use files for documents and attachments. Use notes for written context, decisions, summaries, or internal account information. For post-sales teams, this is where contracts, implementation documents, renewal notes, onboarding summaries, and handoff details stay attached to the account. Both areas live under a company record and support folder-style organization. Files and notes have separate tabs and separate folder trees. A folder in Files is not the same object as a folder in Notes.File storage is plan-limited. The Free plan includes1 GB, Startup includes500 GB, and Business and Enterprise are unlimited in the current client policy.
Company files
Company files are for documents connected to an account.Upload files
Upload files from the company Files tab. Use clear names so teammates can recognize the document later. The Files area supports upload modals, file details, folder movement, and deletion confirmations.Organize folders
Create folders to group files by contract, onboarding, renewal, implementation, or another account-specific structure. Folder actions include creating, editing, moving items, and managing permissions where available.Share folders
Folders have general access and member-specific access. General access controls whether a folder is private or open to the workspace with a permission level. Member-specific access lets you invite named teammates to a folder and choose what they can do.
Folder share modals also include copy-link actions. Copied links use top-level app paths and open in the signed-in user’s active workspace.
Open file details
Open a file to review details and available actions. Contract files can expose contract-specific status where applicable.Delete files
Delete files only when they should no longer be available from the company record.Share files
Files can be shared independently from folders. A file share menu lets teammates adjust general access, add specific people, choose a permission level, and copy a direct link.
Workspace admins can access files in their workspace. Non-admin teammates depend on general access or explicit membership. If a file has explicit member access configured, that membership can narrow access for non-admin users.
