# Email integration

> Route email from a shared support, success, or sales address into the Sayless inbox using domain authentication and email forwarding.

Email brings messages from a shared address into the Sayless inbox.

## Overview

Use Email when customers write to a support, success, sales, or team address. Admins configure email from workspace settings.

Go to [Settings > Email](https://joinsayless.com/\{workspace}/settings/email).

> Email is available on the Free plan and all paid plans.

| Email area | Use it for |
| --------------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| Domain Authentication | Verify sending or receiving for a domain. |
| Email Forwarding | Route incoming email into Sayless. |
| Domain detail | Review one domain’s records and status. |

## Domain authentication

Domain authentication helps Sayless verify that your workspace can send or receive email for a domain.

### Add a domain

Add the domain you want to authenticate from Email settings.

### Verify DNS records

Sayless shows DNS records that need to be added with your DNS provider.

### Validation status

Review the domain status to see whether authentication is complete.

### Delete a domain

Delete a domain when it should no longer be used by the workspace.

## Email forwarding

Forwarding sends incoming email into Sayless.

### Forwarding address

Use the forwarding address shown in settings with your email provider.

### Test forwarding

Send a test when you want to confirm forwarding is working.

### Incoming conversations

Once forwarding is active, incoming messages appear in the inbox as conversations.

## Troubleshooting

Most email setup issues happen outside Sayless, usually in DNS or the email provider.

### DNS issues

If authentication does not validate, confirm the DNS records match exactly and have had time to propagate.

> DNS changes can take time to propagate. If records are correct but validation still fails, wait and retry validation before changing the records again.

### Forwarding failures

If messages do not appear in Sayless, check the forwarding rule, sender address, and spam settings.
